Belly Pics!

As I promised, a little late, but better than never, some random weekly belly pics!

8 Weeks

10 weeks!

12 Weeks

16 Weeks

17 Weeks

19 Weeks

20 Weeks! Half Baked- hence the ice cream!

20 weeks!

Total weight gain: 6 lbs... not too bad for half way, but I'm keeping an eye on it.

How big is baby?: The size of a cantaloupe. He was 8 inches long at the doctors on Thursday.

Maternity clothes?: jeans and regular shirts... which are getting tight....

Stretch marks?: Nope- the belly butter is amazing. I'm slathering it on every night.

Symptoms? I was feeling some tail bone pain, and the doctor said it was because my pelvic bone was widening (awesome). Apparently I'm beginning to grow milk so that explains those pains. The break outs come and go.

Sleep?: still the same

Best moment this week?: Seeing our little BOY and finding out that he was a BOY.

Movement?: Every day! Especially when I'm still or lying down. Some good little kicks starting up. Matt still can't feel.

How far along?: 20 WEEKS. HALF WAY!

Food cravings?: FRUIT and salad. I wouldn't toss sweets out of bed either...

Labor signs?: Nope.

Belly button in or out?: In and if I push around it it can pop out! Weird!

What I miss: I miss running again this week. A lot of beer and wine was had this week, not by me though. I had juice in a cool glass. Oh, and I miss Matt... he's working a ton.

What I'm nervous about: Now that we've had a great doctors appointment, I'm less nervous. I was told to go ahead and work as I normally do, without too much heavy lifting.

What I am looking forward to: making a registry sometime soon now that we know what to get and of course, doing some shopping myself.

Milestone: Baby B is half baked!

Anatomy Scan Appointment!!

Baby B is a Boy!

We went to the doctors for our anatomy scan, and it was awesome. We watched as the ultrasound tech measured all different parts of Baby B, head, heart, liver, feet... you name it. We were planning on having her write it on a piece of paper for us to look at together alone, but once we saw, there was no mistake, this baby is a boy! He was moving around a bit, we saw him yawn and kick and roll! It was the most amazing thing I've ever seen. I had to roll onto my side to get some different measurements. His legs were crossed and one of his hands were behind his head. He was chillin' for sure! The doctor said they can never give a 100% about how healthy any baby is, but he said Baby B gets a 97%! Which is high enough for me. He also said I can lift and work to my comfort without worry, which is great. I love not worrying. :) I do have sort of a low placenta, but other than that, Baby B and I are perfect! He's getting really good at kicking! It's for sure kicking now and I love it.

Now for some amazing pictures!!

A lovely profile. He's sort of turning away, you can see his ear, and his ribcage.

This is when I had rolled on my side. You can see his eyes and nose bones and his heart beat!

This is Matt's favorite picture, this was when he was yawning. Stole my heart.

Here's his foot! Look how many bones! Babies have way more bones than a grown person because they start to bond making less bones, pretty cool huh?

I decided to spare you (and the future embarrassment of my future child) the money shot, but you can take my word for it.

Now we can call him HE and say HIS and my BOY. I'm so smitten already. I'm now browsing boy nursery ideas and looking at boy names. I have a special treat planned for Monday when I post about WEEK 20- half way. Oh my lord...

One For The Money!

So I finally picked up a book and -you'll never believe this guys- I finished it! I have tried reading about 4 different books since February, and nothing has stuck with me. However, I've fallen into the arms of Joe Morelli and Stephanie Plum with Janet Evanovich's series starting with:

One for the money!

I totally gobbled this up. I tried reading this last year, and for some reason, it didn't really stick and I stuck a bookmark in it (like the rest of my books). I guess I have to find the right book at the right time because this time around, I finished it in about 2 days, which is the fastest I could ever finish an adult book with comprehension intact. Not to mention it's a murder mystery series, which is totally not the first genre I run to (points to Harry Potter), but I really loved reading it. AND I'm already half way though the second one! Thank goodness there are 14 more! I'm totally into this series now.

Would you recommend this book to others:
Heck yeah I would. I know I'm a little behind, but these are so fun to read! It's set in Jersey so it's a little grimy, but she adds comedy and spice to it (plus, I love how she spends detail discussing what she eats and how many showers she takes in this book, just little things most authors don't bother with, but I appreciate it). I laughed, my heart raced at some parts, I truly enjoyed this read. Go give it a shot. (heh- no pun intended).

17 Weeks

Before I start, I'm going to say that I'm so glad I can write this post today. Last night we had a scare and went to the hospital for bleeding. We heard the heartbeat going strong and the doctor checked me out. We were told that it's sort of normal within the first 20 weeks to have some bleeding. I have to be really careful, more a lot more slowly and be a lot more grateful for every moment. That being said, let's celebrate Baby B being 17 weeks grown!

Total weight gain: Well I was full of doughnuts and coffee at the hospital last night, so I was up 3.5 pounds from my starting weight.

How big is baby?: The size of an onion- 5 inches long and (wait for it) 5.6 oz... that is almost half a pound of baby!!

Maternity clothes?: yup, just the jeans still, not showing enough to pull of the cute tops yet.

Stretch marks?: Nope

Symptoms? I'm just now worried about the little pangs I'm feeling. Other than that, my face is staying clear, I'm napping every so often, eating all the time, and rubbing my belly almost constantly.

Sleep?: Didn't do a lot last night between the hospital visit and opening the restaurant this morning, but I got home at 10 this morning and slept till 1.

Best moment this week?: Hearing the heartbeat last night after being so afraid. The nurse was skeptical that she would find it right away because she doesn't do it too often, but the second she put it down it was loud and clear. Almost as if Baby B was telling me not to worry. It was lovely to know how strong and clear it was.

Movement?: Less this week (maybe) than last week. I keep debating weather it's my bubbling tummy or the baby, I'm sure it's both, but I can't tell the difference unless I sit really still and quiet and focus on it really hard. It's still really exciting.

How far along?: 17 weeks!

Food cravings?: I'm really feeling the BLTs this week. On wheat, with mayo and Texas Pete (just a few drops). I'm also really loving doughnuts, juice and I absolutely had to have an everything bagel from the Harris Teeter bakery that I'm eating right now and it's heavenly.

Labor signs?: Nope.

Belly button in or out?: In, but flattening on the bottom I'm noticing...

What I miss: Not worrying about how heavy everything I lift is.

What I'm nervous about: Everything right now. Lifting, the pangs, walking up the stairs, keeping the baby safe.

What I am looking forward to: Going to Maryland this weekend for a wedding!

Milestone: First emergency run to the hospital in the middle of the night. (knowing me, it won't be my last, especially close to the end).

Taking it easy this week, we'll be ok.

Hold on to me tight, hold on to me tonight, we are stronger here together, than we will ever be alone, so hold on to me, don't you ever let me go. -Michael Buble
